Painting plant pots

Summer is just around the corner and now is the perfect time to add colour to your garden with painted plant pots. Not only will this bring some style and personality into your garden, but this fun DIY project is a great way to upcycle some of your old terracotta pots.

Here’s how:

1. Choose your favourite plant pots: Terracotta pots in any size or shape are great for this project – pick your favourite.

2. Gather your supplies: Use brushes in different sizes depending on the type of design
you’re after, painter's tape for perfect lines or shapes, British Paints sample pots in the
colours you love and British Paints Prep 4in1.

3. Prepare your plant pots: wipe away any dust/dirt from the plant pots with a damp cloth to ensure that the paint adheres to the surface.

4. Get started: Prime the surface with British Paints Prep 4in1 and set aside to dry.

5. Begin painting: Apply the first coat in the base colour and re-coat it 1-2 more times for the perfect finish. Allow it to dry between coats.

5. Time to get creative: you can paint on stripes like in the above video, add polka dots, go abstract or even leave it a solid colour.

6. Finish and display: when your pots are completely dry, repot your plants in the newly
painted ones and place them around your garden, on your porch or on the window sill.

They also make for great gifts, don’t they?!
